KORAAL KORNUITEN (Friends of Koraal)
Our foundation supports Koraal Groep and its partners in realising a hospitality venue where people who are distant from the job market are given the opportunity of developing all their potential. We are literally rolling up our sleeves and applying our expertise, with Koraal and its partners, to make sure this wonderful project succeeds in 2019.
THE RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE ZUIDOOST-BRABANT
Always your parents nearby
If you're a sick child, you want to have your parents as close to you as possible. And naturally, if you're the parent of a sick child, you don't want to leave them alone for a minute. Thanks to Ronald McDonald Houses, parents are never further away than a few minutes from their sick child in hospital. That feels safe. Brothers and sisters of patients are also welcome in a Ronald McDonald House. A sick child should not be without their parents. The Ronald McDonald House Zuidoost-Brabant is available to parents, brothers and sisters of children admitted to the MMC hospital in Veldhoven.
Berg & Partners supports management and staff by way of training and interventions to help optimise the commercial side of the organisation.
ALPE D’HUZES
Alpe d’HuZes is a fund-raising event in which participants run, hike or cycle up the legendary Alpe d'Huez up to six times, to raise as much money as possible for cancer research, with the motto 'giving up is not an option'. The money raised goes to scientific research into cancer, aimed at getting a grip on the disease, so that in future, no-one need die of cancer. Berg & Partners sponsors several participants in this great initiative.
SHELTERBOX
ShelterBox was set up by Tom Henderson OBE, a former Royal Navy search and rescue diver. He noticed that the help on offer following most natural disasters consists of food or medicine to assist people in surviving the immediate effects of the disaster. Little or nothing is done to supply good emergency shelters to help people get through the first days, weeks or months following a disaster, when they are trying to pick up the pieces of their lives. ShelterBox was set up to address this shortcoming. The ShelterBox is a unique and extremely practical concept. It's clear, simple and effective. Take a transportable box, strong but made of lightweight plastic, that can also be used when empty; pack it with a tent and other articles necessary for survival and have it ready to be distributed whenever it's needed. Since the start, there have been more than 135,000 boxes sent to disaster areas to support people! Berg & Partners sponsored two boxes in 2018.
